Respite care offers temporary assistance to relieve primary caregivers. These services are provided short-term and generally charged daily, but sometimes can be hourly or weekly.
Respite Care can be delivered to those in nearly all living situations, as temporary caregivers could come to a private residence, an Assisted Living Community, or even a Skilled Nursing Facility.
Medicare and Medicaid may provide limited assistance in certain cases. Private insurance does not typically cover Respite Care, so any expenses not covered by insurance or other funding sources are generally paid out-of-pocket.
